Humble Pie

I have started this blog like four times.  I can't get it going.

Humble pie is hard.  It's hard learning that...I'm not perfect.  I know, I know, this is something I should know, but it is still hard being reminded!  Not too long ago at work I had a run in with a customer that left me wading high through my pride.  I could barely see anyone else I was so mad and right!!!!
I'm learning it's not always my place to bring what I think is "justice" to people.  Yesterday I was called out for:
a.) Using my friendly-yet-demeaning voice to a customer
b.) Trying to create justice by punishing the customer (I gave her a bad shot of espresso...)

This is so not cool.

I look at Christ and I think..."I so want to be like that".  Phillipians 2 illustrates it perfectly when it says...

Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.  vv. 5-11

So, next time I feel the need to remind the customer "I'm the barista, I know what I'm doing..." I will remember that Christ (who is God) became man.  Done.

  • I officially have my cap, gown, and graduation hair cut (it's just a trim, no worries).
  • Below is one of my favorite female artists...and she has a new cd...and I am now listening to it...in feast or fallow

He is risen, indeed!

I know this is two posts within ten minutes...but I wanted these two thoughts to be seperate.

I just read the email.

I would like to announce...I passed the Major Comprehensive Exam for my program.

I cried.

I wanted you to be the first to know.

I am one step closer to being done with this season.

Thank you, thank you if you prayed for or supported me...at any point.

I might cry again.

Oh, I am.

He is risen!

With the joys of the holiday weekend I forgot to post the most important post on Sunday....  My favorite Easter song continues....
"up from the grave he arose, with a mighty triumph o'er his foes
he arose a victor from the dark domain
and he lives forever with his saints to reign.
He arose, He arose!  Hallelujah Christ arose!"

I just thought it was extremely important to follow up the previous post..though a couple days overdue, it is still true.

Good Friday thoughts...

"Low in the grave he lay, Jesus my Savior, waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord..."
